Impacts of NOx to the environment. Injection of concentrated
nitric acid into the well plate containing a piece of copper will
generate nitrogen dioxide. Its impacts to air, water and soil
can be seen from the activity. After the generation of NO2, the
nitrite ion content in the passive gas sampler, soil samples and
water samples in different well-plates can be determined spectrophotometrically.
With a few drop of universal indicator added into water sample,
the pH change in the water samples during the event can be monitored.
